The University of British Columbia Foundation

The University of British Columbia Foundation was established in 1987 under the University Foundations Act. Its purpose is to develop public awareness of The University of British Columbia, and to encourage financial support for the university and its programs. The Foundation is designated under the Act as an agent of the Crown in right of the Province of British Columbia. The tax benefits of a charitable gift to the Foundation are the same as for a gift made directly to the university. Because of the Foundation’s powers under the Act, it may be advantageous in some instances for certain types of gift to be made to the Foundation.
