Building on five decades of exponential resource growth, dedicated service and deeply integrated partnerships with UBC science programs, UBC’s Woodward Library is poised to reimagine itself as the university’s flagship science knowledge center equipped to support ground-breaking research and prepare the future stewards of our planet and our health.
Home of the largest biomedical collection in western Canada, the Library has grown to serve over 25,000 students and faculty annually from UBC’s faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, Engineering, Forestry and land and Food Systems.
Today, academic library users seek both quiet and collaborative study areas with ready access to state-of-the-art technology. Our physical spaces are in high demand. We are expanding our teaching, conference and seminar functions to meet the increasing demand for technology-augmented, personalized research services. The migration from print to digital collections provides us with an opportunity to transform our library spaces into dynamic, flexible places of learning.
