Rural Medicine Clerkship

UBC Faculty of Medicine
NMP Clinical Education 2004

Rural areas in BC are struggling with a critical shortage of family doctors. The UBC Faculty of Medicine is committed to addressing this problem in a variety of ways, including the Rural Medicine Clerkship program. This program gives third year undergraduate medical students the opportunity to spend four weeks or more working in a rural community under the guidance of an experienced family doctor. Since the vast majority of our students will study and complete their internships in urban centres (Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna or Prince George), the clerkship provides invaluable exposure to the opportunities of rural practice. Each clerkship costs $1000.

Please make a donation to support these students, and to be part of addressing this pressing social issue.
