Change their world so they can change ours

Change their world so they can change ours

UBC students are each uniquely talented, but not all have the same opportunities. They are the next generation of leaders ready to create lasting and meaningful change and tackle the challenges that affect us all.

In September 2019, UBC announced the extension of its Blue & Gold Campaign for Students — doubling the target to $200 million by 2022. The campaign was launched in November 2017 with an ambitious fundraising target of $100 million in three years. Only two years on, the campaign hit this bold goal through the generosity and support of its donors. This extension will ensure more students have the financial help they need to succeed — and to create a better world.

Support UBC’s new Blue & Gold Campaign for Students today and give promising students access to a life-changing education and — perhaps most importantly — invest in the future of our province and our global community.

About This Project

The Blue & Gold Campaign for Students was launched to ensure promising students had access to a life-changing education and enhance the student experience. More than 6,500 students across both UBC campuses received donor-funded support last year alone.

Supporting these promising students today—so they are equipped to build a better tomorrow—is more urgent than ever.

“We’re very encouraged by and grateful for the amount of support we’ve seen for our students,” said UBC President and Vice-Chancellor, Santa J. Ono. “Students are at the heart of what we do. Ultimately, we want to ensure that more students get access to the best possible education without overwhelming financial concerns. Our Blue & Gold Campaign for Students goes a long way to helping achieve this and demonstrates the positive impact donor support has on our community.”

The Blue & Gold Campaign is the most extensive fundraising campaign for students in UBC’s 104-year history. It supports a range of student awards, including fellowships, scholarships, bursaries, and experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students at the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Areas of emphasis include awards that support students in need, students from under-represented communities, leadership-based academic scholarships, and graduate students.
