Help Thunderbirds Sports Clubs become the leading competitive club sport program in Canada

Launched in 2015, UBC Thunderbirds Sport Clubs (TSC), are student-led competitive sport teams, which consist of 15 separate sport clubs who officially represent the University across Canada and the United States.

All TSC teams compete against other post-secondary institutions in club or intercollegiate leagues at a local, provincial, national, or international level. The program boasts 350 student athletes across 15 clubs in 13 sports. Following a “pay to play” type model, each sport club determines it’s dues based on expenses related to: competition registration fees, facility rentals, travel related costs, apparel, equipment, and coaching. Clubs do receive some support from the University including financial support for coaching and National Championship travel. As UBC Thunderbirds Sport Clubs, these groups have been given the designation as official representatives of the school in their respective sports.

In the pursuit of becoming the leading competitive club sport program in Canada, UBC TSC takes pride in supporting the development of coaches, student employees, student leaders and executives as well as student athletes in the program. Led by a group of 90 volunteer student executives, the student leadership groups are responsible for all aspects of managing their respective team including: governing body relationships, team logistics coordination, practice/training programs, budgeting and finances, sponsorship and partnerships, travel, marketing/communications and recruitment. Help support this group of student athletes pursue the sport they love at the post-secondary level!
