The UBC BodyWorks Fitness Centre provides a variety of community-oriented programs designed to help everyone improve their health and fitness, while giving real life experience and development to students at the School of Kinesiology. The Centre relies on the support of generous donors to continue providing its popular programs. Please make a donation to support the BodyWorks Fitness Centre here.
UBC BodyWorks is a community engagement and student development program of the School of Kinesiology, offering practical work experience, professional development and volunteer opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and alumni of the School of Kinesiology. The centre delivers programs and services for adults of all ages. It helps everyone live with vitality and a thriving quality of life, through the development of fitness, improvement of health and thereby the prevention of injury, illness and disease.
The community programs include spin classes, community fitness sessions and the hugely popular “Changing Aging” program for those over 65. BodyWorks also provides tailored personal training services, including fitness assessments and individualized programs delivered by certified personal trainers, to help you meet your fitness goals.
UBC BodyWorks is UBC’s only adult fitness centre using evidence-based practice. In a non-competitive, supportive environment UBC staff, students, faculty and the public find health and fitness in our programs. Designed and run by the School of Kinesiology, UBC BodyWorks members enjoy an inspiring, supportive community promoting health for every body and every ability.
Donations to the BodyWorks program will support priority projects, including community development programs, equipment and space updates, as well as student learning and professional development opportunities within the Centre.
