The Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre will officially open on the Point Grey campus of the University of British Columbia this fall. The beautiful new facility will be a hub for alumni worldwide, at the UBC Point Grey campus. At the heart of the new centre, the Hong Kong Alumni Meeting Room will be a permanent recognition of the strong connection Hong Kong alumni have with the university. Hong Kong alumni are invited to support the naming of the room by making a donation.
The Hong Kong Alumni Meeting Room will be a premium space within the Innovation Centre, which will become the centre of activity for entrepreneurship@UBC (e@UBC). This is an initiative that inspires and encourages entrepreneurial thinking to create innovative commercial and social ventures. It will provide entrepreneurs from throughout UBC with a unique opportunity for networking and mentoring with UBC alumni, faculty, students, executives-in-residence, company advisors, and service partners. Nearly 250 new ventures have registered in the program so far.
The room will be used for numerous e@UBC and alumni initiatives, including student-led start-ups that require the expertise of business and community leaders. It will become a hub for a variety of alumni activities, playing host to entrepreneurs from UBC and from around the world, giving it the potential to be the birthplace of new innovations that will shape the future of business and our world.
Making a donation to the Hong Kong Alumni Meeting Room in the Alumni Centre is a fantastic way to participate in innovation at UBC, and give your support to emerging commercial and social ventures that are finding solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. The room will highlight the commitment of UBC’s Hong Kong friends to the university, and connect them to the incredible entrepreneurial innovation that will emerge from within its walls.
For donors who wish to receive tax benefits in Hong Kong, UBC has established an international charitable foundation. Gifts made to the foundation will flow directly to UBC to be used as you direct. No administration fees of any kind are deducted from your charitable gift. Information on how to donate via the foundation can be found here.
