Every year, UBC Botanical Garden hosts community field trips that make the science and beauty of nature more accessible to vulnerable children, youth and adults in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. These trips are only possible with the support of donors—and they have a powerful impact on our visitors.
During the field trips, you can immediately see an appreciation for nature taking hold. You might see a group of kids sitting on a bridge sketching fish. Or writing down their thoughts next to a pond, even reading out poems they’d written inspired by the nature around them. Or you might find adults who face huge challenges in their lives discovering a place of peace and wellbeing.
Every gift, no matter the amount, has an impact:
- $50 will provide one person with transportation, a tour of the garden, lunch, and a fun, hands-on learning session.
- A gift of $1,500 will cover the costs for an entire group to visit and enjoy the Garden together.
The Botanical Garden is a wonderful site to enjoy the world’s plant treasures, and a place to sow the seeds of a lifelong appreciation of our natural environment. With your support we can bring the transformative power of nature to as many people as possible.
Please make a donation to the UBC Botanical Garden Community Outreach Program. You will give vulnerable people the opportunity to experience the healing power of nature. You will also help ensure more communities in BC have access to, and are ready to help preserve, the natural wonders of our province.
