The Jamaloddin Khanjani Family Scholarship has been established by Farid Rohani in honour of Jamaloddin Khanjani, a successful businessman who, because he was Baha’i, lost his business after the 1979 Islamic revolution. The scholarship is in honour of Mr. Khanjani’s commitment to and support of education and human rights.
The $5,000 scholarship is for a graduate student focusing on human rights and related aspects of public policy and global affairs, with preference given to students in the Masters of Public Policy and Global Affairs program. Financial need may also be a consideration. Candidates will be nominated by the UBC Policy School and the scholarship adjudicated by the Faculty of Arts Associate Dean, Research in conjunction with Graduate and Postdoctoral studies.
Please make a donation to support graduate students in honour of Jamaloddin Khanjani’s commitment to human rights. The first award will be disbursed in the 2017/18 winter session.
