Travel awards are available for graduate students to attend conferences or symposia. Such travel is core to the graduate student experience and the building of one’s professional network within their research field. The Faculty’s research areas are wide-ranging, from basic and applied research to clinical studies to pharmacy practice research. Please consider making a donation to this award here.

Students may attend conferences throughout North America or even internationally. The awards subsidize travel and accommodation costs, and conference registration fees.

Please donate here to support the Graduate Student Travel Award.

Award recipient, Nicole Tsao, a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was recently elected to the Canadian Association for Population Therapeutics (CAPT) Board of Directors as the Student Representative.  Nicole is the first UBC student to hold this position; for the upcoming year, she will focus on promoting the vision of CAPT amongst fellow graduate students across Canada.  The funds received through her recent receipt of the Graduate Student Travel Award were put towards financing her trip to the Board meeting in November 2014, where she was officially recognized in her new role with CAPT.  Nicole is excited for this new educational endeavour, and grateful for the receipt of the Travel Award in its support.

‘The Graduate Student Travel Award in Pharmaceutical Sciences was integral in facilitating my attendance at the largest conference of my research area. This was a tremendous opportunity for me to learn about the latest research and to meet experts in my field.’ Mariam Tasnuva, MSc Candidate, UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
