Global Health

Supporting students, faculty and alumni in their participation in global citizenship and international engagements helps us better address the complex health challenges facing our world, locally and internationally. For instance, the School has had a close relationship with the Canada-India Education Society for more than ten years, where SoN engages in exchanges for students, faculty, and curriculum with nursing schools in the Punjab region of India. These exchanges allow us to broaden students’ cultural experiences, enhance cultural sensitivity of curriculum, and increase faculty’s own understanding of the cultural underlay of health behaviour.

Support of the Global Health project within the school allows us to support our faculty and students in pursuing international volunteer and learning experiences to not only boost community health overseas, but to bring their experiences back to benefit community health in Vancouver and BC.
