The Dr. Richard Wadge Teaching Award in Medicine

To commemorate the retirement and subsequent sad passing of Dr. Richard Wadge, the Dr. Richard Wadge Teaching Award will be set up to honour the life and career of a distinguished Family Practitioner, Clinical Skills tutor, and Chief Examiner for the Medical Council of Canada.

About This Project

“…a dedicated and well-respected teacher… I consider Dr. Wadge an exemplary example of a teacher of medicine….a kind, thoughtful, and supportive colleague that has significantly impacted my own career in medical education. I hold him in the highest regard.”
– Dr. Heather Buckley

Your gift to this award will celebrate the personal and professional qualities that imbued Dr. Wadge’s teaching with meaning and excellence—kindness, compassion, and professionalism.

Dr. Wadge inspired and educated his students, ensuring their solid acquisition of foundational clinical knowledge and skill while always encouraging them to “find out the patient’s story.” His kindness and respect touched students, colleagues, volunteers, patients, and administrative staff at all levels.

The annual recipient of the Richard Wadge Teaching Award will be a clinical skills tutor who exhibits the same calibre of teaching excellence, professionalism and compassion as Dr. Wadge. Please make a donation today, and help pay tribute to Dr. Wadge’s outstanding life and career.
