Chemical and Biological Engineering Field Trip

A17 CHBE_LP

For the students in third-year year Chemical and Biological Engineering, the annual class field trip has become a cherished tradition. A great opportunity for students to forge bonds and build long-lasting friendships with classmates, this trip is the key way for students to gain valuable insight into their chosen career field. Your support is vital to making the field trip possible.

Each year, nearly 100 third-year Chemical and Biological Engineering students venture by bus to northern BC and Alberta to visit, tour and network with industry leaders by visiting pulp mills, zinc smelters, coal facilities, bio-fuel and chemical refineries. These tours and site visits also provide students with important information on safety, project scale, complexity, the value of their chosen field and a true appreciation for the environment. The week-long trip is capped off with a networking dinner and a chance for students to sit down with industry professionals giving them a backstage pass to meet the practicing engineers in their work environment, ask questions and learn more about what is to come after graduation.

Please make a donation to the CHBE third-year Fall Field Trip. Your gift will support travel and accommodations for approximately 100 students. This is your opportunity to support students as they learn about how their degree applies in the real world and choose a career path in Chemical and Biological Engineering.
