The Peter A. Allard Allard School of Law has played an active role in building connections between North America and Asia for more than thirty years. The Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the Allard School of Law offers the only integrated program in Canada and one of the most comprehensive in North America for the study of law and contemporary Asia.

Globalization’s impact on the practice of law and legal education has been profound. Lawyers and scholars now advise clients, governments, and policies makers across borders and between cultures. Lawyers and scholars with experience in multiple jurisdictions will be best-prepared to capitalize on business and legal opportunities created by a global environment and to develop globally-relevant approaches to economic development, environmental sustainability, investment and trade. The Allard School of Law’s Centre for Asian Legal Studies plays a leading role in influencing public policy and creating opportunities on both sides of the Pacific.
