Since UBC Softball was established in 2010, the team has been without a home field to train and compete. UBC Softball players have been playing out of Softball City in South Surrey for almost a decade, which means that student-athletes must juggle a full course load, a rigorous training and competition schedule, and also fit in commuting to and from South Surrey. In addition to a long commute, this satellite field also puts student-athletes further away from UBC’s exceptional academic services and state-of-the-art strength and conditioning, recovery, and therapy facilities — supports that characterize the Thunderbird experience.
With renewed support from the university, UBC Softball and UBC Athletics are embarking on an ambitious plan to create a home for softball on campus. However, additional funding is required to ensure this goal is realized and the team can play on campus in 2021.
We invite you to consider supporting UBC Softball by purchasing an engraved brick that will pave the entrance to the newly upgraded Nobel Park Softball Field. Your brick can be engraved with an individual or family name, a team or group name, or a business name.
