Bringing the Power of Math into the Community

The Mathematics Outreach Endowment Fund supports Aboriginal math programs and K-12 math workshops.

About This Project

The UBC Department of Mathematics has exemplified UBC’s commitment to the community through its successful outreach programs, designed to inspire young minds and expose them to the mathematical sciences. The UBC Department of Mathematics and its partners develop programming for Aboriginal students, organize mathematics workshops, administer the Euclid Mathematics Contest and support the Greater Vancouver Olympiad Circle.

The Mathematics Outreach Endowment Fund was established with a generous lead gift from George Bluman, former head of the department. Over the past several years, this fund has been graciously supported by alumni and friends of UBC. Additional funding will help the department build its presence in the community, enrich the student experience, and provide the external community access to the valuable resources within the department.
